This presentation explores the fundamentals of fly ash utilization in construction. We'll examine how incorporating fly ash affects both the fresh and hardened properties of concrete. The discussion will also cover the significant environmental benefits of using fly ash, specifically its impact on Global Warming Potential (GWP). Finally, the presentation will conclude by addressing the challenges and opportunities for the industry. We will explore the evolving landscape of fly ash availability as global energy sources transition and define strategies to ensure the future supply of this essential resource.
Our speaker will be Doug S. Rhodes who strategically guides the technical marketing and sales support for the use of Coal Combustion Products (CCPs)) and other supplementary cementing materials. With over 30 years of experience testing coal combustion by-products and cement-based materials, he is a key player in developing and executing testing programs. Doug works closely with corporate and regional management to align these programs with core business objectives ensuring both material quality and product innovation. His extensive industry knowledge and commitment to best practices are demonstrated by his professional certifications from ACI, NRMCA, NICET, and the Georgia Masonry Association. Doug is currently Director of Technical Services for Eco Material Technologies.
This is a noon meeting. Lunch will be provided.
Please remember it is awards time. Also attached is a nomination form for your projects that you would like to submit. If you have a project that makes use of concrete in a unique, substantial or innovated way we hope you will submit it for consideration. Nominations are due October 1.
