August Meeting Announcement 

Topic: Insulated Tilt-Up Panels (1 PDH) 

This presentation is on lessons learned and detailing, that can be used to build and design  Insulated tilt-up panels. Insulated tilt-up combine the strength and durability of reinforced  concrete with the energy efficiency of rigid insulation, providing an ideal solution many  building applications. The presentation will explore the many lessons learned on the use of  insulated tilt-up panels throughout a 19 year career at The Company Haskell, including a  recent 1,400,000 sq processing facility. The presentation will discuss preliminary wall  sizing and placement along with structural design considerations including design details  and construction inspections. 

Speaker: Joe Shepard, PE 

Joe has over 40 years of structural design experience in various markets including  healthcare, consumer goods, food processing, manufacturing, and aviation. Joe has been  with The Haskell Company since 2005 and as a Fellow Structural Engineer has been  responsible to work with A/E principals from many disciplines to develop optimum  structural designs. He heads the public facilities structural design group and leads the  effort for all structural calculations, working drawings and specifications for that group.  Joe has served as the president of the Florida Structural Engineering Association and holds  a professional engineering license in over 20 states.
