Total Precast Concrete Systems

The prefabrication and off-site construction of concrete building systems have been a key contributor to their proven performance for decades. This presentation will familiarize attendees with prefabricated concrete’s family of products and illustrate how they can be assembled to produce sustainable architecture for any building type. Concrete building solutions contribute to sustainable designs, which include energy efficiency and long-term building performance, and provides unmatched design versatility. The design flexibility of concrete structures makes them ideal for adaptive reuse as concrete members are individually engineered and can be disassembled for future additions to buildings. Attendees will learn how different types of concrete structural systems can be used to reduce jobsite risks by erecting large building components, reducing workforce labor, and increasing the overall construction speed by 25%. 

Speakers: 

Richard Pope, Senior Project Manager, has been in the construction industry for 49 years, 10 years in general contracting and 39 years in the precast concrete industry with the majority of the time at Gate Precast. His vast experience after working in several departments from drafting, estimating, sales and then the project management of over 120 projects is an asset to the design-build teams.

Randy Phillips, Director of Structural Systems, an experienced veteran with over 29 years in the construction industry, joined Gate Precast in 2015 serving in a dual role as estimator and sales representative for hollow core plank. During this time, his estimating knowledge and sales ability expanded Gate’s hollow core operations. In 2017, he moved into Structural Precast Sales where he works with design teams to create total precast building solutions and in 2021 moved into his current role as Director of Structural Systems where he leads Gate’s preconstruction and sales team for our Florida, Georgia and South Carolina structural precast markets.
