Presentation Agenda

  • Introductions
  • Brief background on carbon nanotubes (CNTs)
  • EdenCrete® (Type S liquid admixture for concrete)
  • EdenCrete® project review (DOT, industrial, commercial, municipalities and public works, residential, & marine)
  • Questions & Answers, Informal Discussion

EdenCrete® is a Type S liquid admixture developed over the past decade by Eden Innovations LLC.  The functional component is a carbon nanotube and is an amazing material for concrete applications.  Unlike most admixtures for concrete that do one thing very well, EdenCrete® does several things very well.  Considering all of the benefits together, the end result is a tougher, more durable concrete that offers significant life cycle savings for a modest investment at time of construction.  Currently approved by more than 20 State DOTs.

  • Improves
    • Abrasion Resistance
    • Flexural Strength
    • Split Tensile Strength
    • Compressive Strength
    • Finishing and Pumping
  • Reduces
    • Cracking
    • Permeability
    • Shrinkage
    • Staining
    • Strength degradation due to high heat applications

*Additionally, EdenCrete® acts to mitigate ASR as a supplement to fly ash (reducing the amount of fly ash needed).

Speaker:

Robert W Cavaliero, M.C.E.

Robert is the Product Manager - EdenCrete®, where he is focused on market growth strategies, technical field support, and assisting the Sales team with the implementation of EdenCrete® into new and innovative projects for Eden Innovations LLC in Littleton, CO.  He began his career with Eden in 2009, shortly after receiving a master’s degree in civil engineering (concrete materials) from the University of Colorado.  Robert led the first carbon nanotube-concrete program for Eden, before a 2-year hiatus when he was employed as a research engineer for the United States Gypsum Company (USG) at their Corporate Innovation Center outside of Chicago, IL where he oversaw acoustical and structural performance testing for the poured flooring products division.  Although brief, the stay with USG provided a wealth of experience which was carried back to Eden when he rejoined the company in 2015.  Robert enjoys regular attendance and speaking at association conferences such as ACI, ASTM, NPCA, NRMCA, and TRB.  Robert lives in Littleton, CO with his wife of 6 years and 4 year old daughter, where he enjoys fishing, hiking, traveling, and playing music with friends.
