Topic: Concrete Corrosion Technology

Corrosion of the reinforcing steel is the #1 cause of concrete failure on bridge structures.  Before corrosion can be mitigated or brought to a halt, we must understand the underlying cause and quantify the magnitude and extent of corrosion risk.  There are many destructive and non-destructive test methods that are effective in assessing corrosion risk.  No one method will provide a complete assessment, but in combination can provide a holistic view of the structure’s health.  This webinar will compare and contrast the various testing methods available today along with technologies to mitigate corrosion of reinforcing steel in existing concrete structures.

Speaker: Jason Chodachek, SE Territory Manager, Vector Corrosion Technologies

Jason Chodachek is a Marine Specialist for Vector Corrosion Technologies and a NACE

Cathodic Protection Technician. Jason received his associate's degree in computer engineering

then started his career in the concrete restoration industry. He has over 25 years of experience

in the restoration and protection of reinforced concrete structures. Jason has worked extensively

in areas related to corrosion of reinforcing steel, cathodic protection installation, concrete

condition assessments, concrete repair and restoration.
