Topic: Structural Design to Improve Constructability: A Panel Discussion (1.5 CEUs)
Designing a structure and actually building the structure can lead to much anguish, changes, costs and sometimes legal battles. Some insight into how these things happen can help us all prevent them.
Panelists:
Mr. Mark Keister – Mark has a BSE from Duke and MSCE from Georgia Tech. Mark is a Structural Engineer and Principal with Atlantic Engineering Services of Jacksonville. Mark practiced for 4 years in Atlanta, GA and has practiced in Jacksonville since 1986. Mark is also a Threshold Inspector.
Mr. Joe Shepard – Joe is a Structural Fellow at Haskell and has been a structural engineer for over 40 years. He has designed a wide variety of structural systems in many different markets and has a breadth of experience designing for wind, seismic, snow and other unique loading situations.
Mr. Bryan Butcher – Chief Estimator in the Southeast District with Hensel Phelps. Bryan has been Chief Estimator for 16 years.
Mr. Alan Wilson – Alan is Vice President – Chief Architect for Haskell. He has worked at Haskell since 1987. Holding a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard, he is registered in over 20 states and a past president of both the American Institute of Architects Jacksonville and the Tilt-Up Concrete Association. Alan was also featured in an article for PCI Summer 2020 Ascent Magazine.
